The Organization

 

The Agroecology Coalition (www.agroecology-coalition.org) is hosted by The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT in Rome, Italy at the headquarters. Its purpose is to accelerate the food system transformation through agroecology. It is composed of more than 200 members, including governments, regional commissions, and organizations (farmers’ associations, indigenous peoples’ associations, research organizations, CSOs/NGOs, UN agencies, and philanthropy).

About the position

Based in Rome, Italy at the Alliance Headquarters, or alternatively home-based in Italy, under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Intern will provide assistance to the Agroecology Coalition and support various tasks related to the communication and administration of the Coalition.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation of social media content and the curation of Coalition’s social media channels.
  • Assist with the monitoring and analysis of the Coalition’s social media channels.
  • Assist with the website management, update, and maintenance.
  • Assist with the drafting of the internal and external newsletter and other communication materials.
  • Assist with setting up meetings (Working Groups, Members, etc.), and taking minutes.
  • Assist with event organization (e.g. logistics, travel arrangements).
  • Assist with collecting some documentation related to accounting (invoices, travel reimbursements).
  • Undertake other related duties as required.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Ongoing or recently completed studies in communications, marketing, political sciences, or related fields of studies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite packages.
  • Working knowledge (at least C1 level) of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Good interpersonal, communications and teamwork skills, courtesy and tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.
  • Good skills in personal organization and priority setting.

 

Desirable Requirements

  • Working knowledge of graphic design tools and video editing.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish language (highly desirable) and/or French (desirable).
  • Work experience in an international environment.

 

Terms of employment

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university or graduate school and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies, or alternatively, have completed their university studies within the past six months. The internship shall be on a full-time basis for 6 months. The monthly stipend will be established in accordance with Bioversity International’s local standards and regulations.

  • Be Italian nationals holding a valid passport or identity card.
  • Or be EU citizens holding a valid passport or identity card and confirmation of registration from the Registrar’s Office (Anagrafe).
  • Or Non – EU citizens holding a valid Italian work permit (permesso di soggiorno per lavoro subordinato).
