Fiona Bourdin-Farrell

Fiona Bourdin-Farrell is the CGIAR Global Director of People and Culture. Fiona brings almost 30 years of experience that includes her most recent role as CGIAR Senior Advisor, Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion (GDI) which she has held since January 2020. She previously held the role of HR Director at both ICRISAT and IRRI.

Her additional experience includes eight years in the United Nations, of which almost five years were as Director of HR at UN Women. She has served on key global UN panels and HR working groups, in addition to contributing to the development of the UN System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity. Her private sector experience includes roles at McKinsey & Company, Sodexho and the Persequor group.

She is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from Central Queensland University/ANU, Australia, and a Master’s and a BSc (Management) from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland.
