Partnerships

Partnerships are recognized relationships between CGIAR Research Programs and Platforms and other institutions internal or external to CGIAR.

Partnerships are at the core of CGIAR’s work. In 2021, CGIAR reported partnerships involving a wide range of partners, from policymakers in governments and international agencies, to research collaborators in research and academic institutions around the world, as well as public- and private-sector companies and nonprofit institutions involved in the development and scaling of innovations.

In 2021, CGIAR highlighted 261 partnerships. In 2021, 40% of these partnerships were focused on research, 27% on delivery, 19% on capacity development, 10% on policy, and 4% on other areas.
