CGIAR reports on policies, legal instruments, investments, or curricula modified in design or implementation as a result of being informed by CGIAR research.

In 2021, CGIAR reported a total of 95 policies, legal instruments, investments, or curricula informed by CGIAR research. Of the total, 57% (54) showed evidence of research findings being taken up by next users, 42% (40) involved a policy being passed or a law enacted, and 1% (1) demonstrated evidence of impact for the first time in 2021.

Policies in 2021 were linked to 13 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Significantly, 43% (41) related to SDG13 (climate action), 37% (35) to SDG2 (zero hunger), and 36% (34) to SDG17 (partnerships for the goals).

In 2021, 77% (73) of achievements under this indicator were policies and strategies, 9% (9) were budgets and investments, 8% (8) were legal instruments, and 5% (5) were curricula.*
