Alyssa Jade McDonald-Bärtl

Alyssa Jade McDonald-Bärtl has been Chair of the WorldFish Board of Trustees since 2024. She has a corporate background in energy and technology and subsequently founded a Berlin-based organisation that builds agricultural innovation enterprises operating in Ecuador, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea, focusing on field-practice improvement and farmer education systems.

Her work has been recognized with a number of entrepreneurship and business awards. Her firm now works on deep-tech assessment and funding advisory, AI governance, ESG, and social economy development. Long-term clients include the European Commission, UNDP, the German Government, and family offices, with engagements covering innovation funding, portfolio management, and social innovation.

The other current board mandate she holds is on the Supervisory Board of TAKKT AG, a German publicly listed company, where she also serves on the Audit and Risk Committee. Her committee specialisations are AI governance and environmental and social governance.
She is a dual citizen of Germany and Australia and is based in Germany.
