Allison Poulos
Adaptive Management Advisor within the Portfolio Coordination Team of the Office of the Chief Scientist
Allison Poulos, Adaptive Management Advisor within the Portfolio Coordination Team of the Office of the Chief Scientist, based in Rome, Italy, leads the adaptive management workstream to strengthen planning, risk management, and reporting across the CGIAR portfolio and strategy. In 2025, she advanced technical reporting and capacity-building initiatives for CGIAR Science Programs. Prior to joining the System Office in 2024, Allison served as Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, focusing on outcome reporting and enhancing tools and dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making.
With extensive expertise in research planning and performance monitoring, she led the development of Bioversity International’s Results-Based Management Monitoring Tool, which linked budgets to delivery and improved real-time accountability and oversight. Earlier in her career, Allison worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization, Shriners Hospitals for Children – Boston Burn Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital as a registered dietitian. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an MBA.
She enjoys yoga, Pilates, running, skiing, standup paddleboarding, and long walks with Ciro, her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever—pursuits she embraces for both pleasure and as a counterweight to her fondness for Rome’s culinary scene.
