ICARDA at Cairo Water Week 2023

Cairo Water Week (CWW) 2023, scheduled from October 29 to November 2, 2023, in Cairo, Egypt, will focus on “Action on Water Adaptation for Sustainability.”
The event aims to foster discussions and highlight the importance of adaptation actions in the water sector to ensure sustainability. Esteemed international and regional organizations will organize plenary and technical sessions covering various related sub-themes and sub-topics.
Beyond seeking solutions, practical tools, policies, and actionable measures to safeguard the livelihood and security of future generations, the primary objective of CWW 2023 is to advance scientific knowledge. This emphasis on knowledge will enable us to better understand the present and future challenges concerning water.
During the event, ICARDA will host two open sessions on Day 4: Improving Early Warning Systems for Severe Weather Events and Prolonged Droughts, Wednesday, November 1:
Moreover, ICARDA will co-host a session organized by FAO and co-hosted by the Egyptian Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the National Water Research Center, and Tottori University:
Additionally, building on the success of previous editions, ICARDA will co-organize the 6th African Young Water Professionals (Af-YWP) Forum with ICID, AFRWG, UN ESCWA, GWP-MED, IWMI, ACSAD, and UNCCD in collaboration with CWW. Scheduled from October 30 to November 1, 2023, the virtual forum will feature three days of training workshops. The forum theme is “Actions on the Climate Change Impacts and Sustainability of Irrigated Agriculture,” focusing on addressing the training needs of young professionals in Africa.
