Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, who will speak at the upcoming Global Landscapes Forum in Nairobi, has been involved in the three Rio Conventions on biodiversity, climate change and desertification, she was selected as the speaker representing civil society at the signing of the U.N. Paris Agreement on climate change. She’s former co-chair of the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change, and a member of the executive committee of the Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee.
