The new CGIAR Research Initiative on Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformation (SHiFT) is inviting key stakeholders in Bangladesh to join a half-day launch event on Wednesday, November 9, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce SHiFT to key stakeholders in Bangladesh and explore potential partnerships.  In addition, the agenda will allow time to discuss with stakeholders how SHiFT’s planned research agenda can be refined to align with Bangladesh’s food systems transformation agenda.

In Bangladesh, SHiFT will use an innovative, consumer-focused perspective to understand how to increase demand for and access to sustainable healthy diets. SHiFT’s work will involve stakeholders at multiple stages of the food system, from individual consumers to businesses that sell food and employ workers, on to decision-makers at the national or subnational level. By working closely with major stakeholders involved in Bangladesh’s food systems transformation agenda, SHiFT aims to generate evidence-based policy options, develop robust metrics and tools, and strengthen capacity to collectively catalyze food systems transformation in ways that also improve livelihoods, gender equity, and social inclusiveness.
