Finance and Administration Officer
The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit one (1) dynamic and experienced Finance and Administration Officer to provide support the Finance and Administrative team, especially the accounting and the finance management, but also the administrative task as required.
The Position: The selected candidate will be based in Antananarivo and will report to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee financial operations of the field office, including cash and bank management, timely
financial reporting, and maintaining financial records.
– Enter financial data and manage month-end closures.
– Liaise with finance specialists.
– Prepare payments (cheques, transfers, petty cash).
– Ensure accurate invoice processing and proper documentation.
– Comply with financial policies.
– Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
– Handle VAT exemptions and maintain audit-ready records.
– Support a good filing system.
– Manage financial transactions and ensure efficient processing and approval of payment requests.
– Deliver and collect bank instructions.
– Oversee all tasks done by the person under supervision.
– Ensure right back up for administrative and logistic tasks during the absence of the Assistant
administrative.
Selection Criteria
– Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting or related discipline.
– At least 6 years’ experience performing similar functions, preferably in an environment of
international organizations or NGOs.
– Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel.
– Accounting software packages (ERP Preferable)
– Experience in management and administration of annual budgets, handing payroll and taxes.
– Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
– Analytical thinking, good sense of planning and organization
