The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for one
(1) Legal Assistant to provide support to the Legal Department in Lima, Peru.

About the position: This position will provide operational support to the Legal Department to ensure
effective management of legal documentation, processes, and compliance with
institutional procedures. The Legal Assistant will report to the Head of Legal
Department and will be based In Lima, Peru.
Key responsibilities:
- Support in managing agreements such as HCAs, MoUs, and
collaboration contracts in line with CIP’s legal framework.
- Provide support in the preparation, review, and
processing of legal documents under supervision.
- Assist in drafting standard contracts, agreements,
endorsements, and legal letters using existing templates.
- Coordinate the signing process of legal
documents/contracts, ensuring follow-up and timely filing in electronic and
physical archives.
- Maintain and update monitoring tools for deadlines,
signatures, and compliance tracking.
- Organize, centralise, and archive legal documentation
according to institutional procedures.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents
following established methodologies.
- Support communication with internal and external
stakeholders by coordinating requests and gathering required information.
- Use institutional systems (e.g., SharePoint, DocuSign,
or other CIP platforms) for document management and track.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
· Bachelor’s degree in law.
· 1 year of relevant work experience in legal support or
similar positions (internships may be considered).
· Intermediate level of MS Office, especially Word and
Excel. Power BI is a plus.
· Experience in international organizations or NGOs is
preferred.
· Familiarity with Peruvian legal procedures and
international agreements is a plus.
· Knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights is a plus.
· Intermediate level in English (Advanced is a plus)
