Country Coordinator Cote d’Ivoire – RIZAO Project

The Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice) is seeking a qualified Country Coordinator Cote d’Ivoire – RIZAO Project who will be based at AfricaRice Office in Mbe – Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire. S/He will work under the supervision of Senior Regional Coordinator – RIZAO Project.

Position purpose
As the Country Coordinator for Côte d’Ivoire, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the RIZAO project at the national level. Acting as the primary representative of the project in the country, he/she will ensure the effective coordination of activities, maintain strong engagement with key stakeholders, and support the achievement of project objectives.

Position responsibilities
Under the supervision of the RIZAO Project Senior Regional Coordinator, he/she will conduct activities with specific tasks that include, but are not limited to:
 Liaise with the various partners involved in implementing the project in the country, in particular
partner financial structures, International Institutions, Technical and Financial Partners, Incubation
Centers, etc.
 Ensure the mobilization of youth agricultural enterprises and rural youth groups targeted by the
project.
 Organize and facilitate various training sessions, capacity-building sessions, and workshops as part of the project.
 Ensure technical and financial monitoring of activities.
 Maintain an up-to-date file and document data on the various activities of project stakeholders, and the activities and performance of selected youth enterprises.

Assist the RIZAO regional coordinator and other Steering Committee members in compiling progress
reports, workshop and training reports, and financial reports.
 Work in close collaboration with the Regional Coordinator and the project’s technical implementation partners.
 Regularly inform the RIZAO regional coordination on the progress of activities and the financial
situation of the project.
 Produce and submit work plans and regular project monitoring reports (quarterly, annual).
 Represent the program at meetings with partners and local authorities, as required.
 Perform other tasks identified by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Selection Criteria
Education Master’s degree in rural development, project/program management, agro-economics, agronomy,or a related field.
Work experience and key competencies required:
 Minimum 5 years’ experience in the planning, management and implementation of agricultural and rural development projects, including the organization of events (workshops, training courses, etc.).
 Proven collaboration with development institutes, agricultural enterprises, agricultural finance
structures, research/universities, governments, and other governmental and non-governmental
organizations in Côte d’Ivoire.
 Experience in an international non-profit organization or NGO is an advantage.

Languages
 Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills in French and English

 The initial appointment is for Four (4) years with the possibility for renewal based on performance and availability of funding.
