The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) showcased a preview of MaiWater AI, an artificial intelligence-augmented hydrological model, at a high-level stakeholder consultation hosted by the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the United Nations during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
The consultation gathered feedback from governments and partners ahead of its launch at the 2026 UN Water Conference in December. MaiWater AI is an initiative supported by the International Affairs Office at the UAE Presidential Court and led by IWMI as a flagship of the CGIAR AI Hub, under the CGIAR Digital Transformation Accelerator.
