About the Webinar

This webinar is part of the Scaling for Impact, CGIAR Science program (S4I) and Wageningen University and Research (WUR) science of scaling webinars.
The session aims to explore how a mission driven enterprise (ABALOBI) contributes to scaling innovations for sustainable impact. It will highlight practical examples, partnership models, and lessons on its partnership with CGIAR and ENABEL on the scaling readiness framework and how businesses can catalyze uptake, investment, and sustained delivery at scale.
ENABEL Innovation hub
The ENABEL Innovation Hub aims to accelerate the scaling of innovative solutions through financial support, capacity building for scaling and partnerships. Its mission is to scout, identify, and support transformative social innovations that deliver meaningful change.
The Hub collaborates with researchers, innovators, and like-minded institutions to develop tools, models and default pathways to scaling non-profit innovations. It is currently piloting the CGIAR Scaling Readiness framework to projects in sustainable fisheries and water management.
ABALOBI
ABALOBI’s vision is to cultivate thriving, equitable and climate-resilient small-scale fishing communities globally, through financial inclusion, collective social entrepreneurship and data-driven fisheries rebuilding. Our approach stimulates co-management, implements fisheries improvement programmes, and uses innovative data, traceability and market technologies to poise small-scale fishers for social, economic and ecological sustainability. We believe in participatory strategies for fisheries rebuilding that consider ocean life and livelihoods.
Science of Scaling Webinar Series
The Science of Scaling webinar series is a platform for researchers and practitioners engaged in scaling innovations to share insights, experiences, and practical lessons.
Organized quarterly by Wageningen University & Research and the CGIAR Scaling for Impact Science Program, the series convenes participants from across CGIAR, development organizations, academia, the private sector, and other partners. Each session is member-driven in both content and execution, ensuring discussions remain relevant, practical, and grounded in real-world scaling experiences.
