FAO will be hosting the Thirty-fourth Session of the Committee (COFI34), a virtual dialogue to examine fisheries and aquaculture governance and development.

Date: Monday-Friday, 1-5 February 2021

Time: 16:30 (UTC+8)

The FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) brings together policymakers, researchers, industry representatives and civil society groups from across the world to consider the latest initiatives, regulations and research in the areas of fisheries and aquaculture governance and development.

WorldFish and FAO has had a long-standing partnership to enhance the impact of fish on the well-being of millions of consumers, producers and fisheries-dependent people worldwide. During the 33rd Session of the Committee on Fisheries (COFI33), WorldFish’s Director General, Gareth Johnstone signed an agreement with FAO to combine research skills,  experience and policy-making capacity to build the sustainability, resilience and inclusivity of global fisheries and aquaculture production and value chains.

During last year’s virtual dialogue on the path to COFI34, the Illuminating Hidden Harvest study was featured in a side-event with research experts from WorldFish, FAO and Duke Univeristy. Check out the event recording and the event questions and answers report.
