This series of lectures will be hosted by the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences on April 2, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida.

Established in 1984 from a generous endowment by Dr. and Mrs. E.T. York, Jr., the York Distinguished Lecturer Series annually welcomes a globally recognized leader in agriculture or a related field to the University of Florida.

The 2024 York Lecture Series

The series offers these esteemed guests the opportunity to engage in various academic activities, including delivering lectures, conducting workshops, and leading seminars.

This interaction enriches the experience of both the university’s faculty and students. Additionally, the lecturers are given the chance to maintain an ongoing connection with the University as visiting professors, highlighting the University of Florida’s longstanding commitment to enhancing global welfare.

CGIAR Participation

This year, CGIAR Executive Managing Director Ismahane Elouafi will deliver a lecture, “Future-proofing food: Strategies for enhancing global resilience and sustaining a growing world,” on April 3, 2024, from 09:00 am to 10:15 am.
