This year, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), in partnership with the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) co-organizes the 6th International Rice Congress to be held from 16-19 October 2023 in Manila, Philippines.
The International Rice Congress is a scientific platform for rice-based food systems innovators to work towards shaping a food- and nutrition-secure future. Convened by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) every four years, the Congress brings together scientists, experts, and decision makers from the government, private, and public sectors to formulate evidence-based solutions to some of the biggest challenges of the global rice sector.
Bearing the theme Accelerating Transformation of Rice-Based Food Systems: From Gene to Globe, the event expects over a thousand participants from around the world as they convene, converse, and converge for rice science. The platform provides an opportunity for them to share their expertise and formulate actionable plans to attain evidence-based solutions to some of the biggest challenges of the global rice sector.
