CGIAR Genetic Innovation Forum:

Note: The Forum will no longer take place in an in-person format. Please check back for more information on online sessions in late 2023.

CGIAR’s Genetic Innovation Science Group is hosting the Genetic Innovation Forum to bring together our partners and people in a dynamic knowledge exchange and collaborative experience. Through trans-disciplinary teamwork, the Forum will build a shared understanding of how we all contribute to a common theory of change and agenda of work for crop breeding, seed systems, and genebanks. Join us for three days of developing synergies, connections, and new ideas, building a solid foundation for achieving our shared goals together!

Rationale

Partnerships and collaboration are the foundation for achieving the impact targets of CGIAR’s Genetic Innovation (GI) Science Group towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Thus, GI aims to establish and strengthen mechanisms for bringing teams, partners, and funders together to build trust, a sense of belonging, and awareness of the big picture, while encouraging new ideas, collaboration, and synergies among trans-disciplinary teams. GI’s goals and theory of change – which have been developed with partners and represent shared aspirations – will provide the anchor for fostering this shared sense of direction and purpose.

Goals

  • To develop a shared environment for CGIAR and partners’ work on crop breeding, seed systems and genebanks that promotes a clear, shared purpose and direction.
  • To strengthen a common theory of change and agenda of work.
  • To bring teams and partners together in equitable alliances built on trust and proximity.
  • To encourage trans-disciplinary teamwork, a sense of belonging, and awareness of the big picture.
