In this event hosted by CGIAR Gender Platform and Wageningen University & Research (as EU Gender-Smart partner), different panels made up of representatives from research, civil society, practice, policy, private sector and donors will share insights on the importance of ‘gender+ research’ and ‘gender+ integration’ in guiding positive transformations in food systems and societies worldwide.

The panels of experts, including, WorldFish’s Gender Research Lead, Cynthia McDougall, will address how marginalization and social exclusion in agriculture and food systems are shaped at the intersection of gender with other social dimensions, such as socioeconomic status, age or generation, ethnicity or religion and belief systems, which is referred to as ‘gender+.’

The four-day program aims to generate innovative, conceptually sound, and influential gender+ research, and widening and strengthening the networks of researchers dedicated to advancing this work, are the focus of this conference.

The organizers welcome proposals for full sessions or single contributions in various formats by Friday, 4 June 2021. For possible session themes and perspectives, click here to explore.
