Hosted by the United Nations, the 9th annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology, and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum) will be held from 9–10 May 2024 at the United Nations Head Quarters in New York City.
The theme for the 2024 STI Forum is “Science, technology and innovation for reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions.”
About the forum
The forum, led by ECOSOC President Paula Narváez and co-chairs Christina Markus Lassen and Inga Rhonda King, aims to discuss the role of STI in sustainable development. Aligned with the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, it focuses on addressing poverty and crises through innovative solutions.
This year’s theme will serve as a beacon for discussions on sustainable, resilient solutions across sectors, fostering dialogue, sharing insights, and shaping a brighter future through the transformative power of STI towards a more sustainable, inclusive world.
CGIAR participation
On May 9, 2024, System Board Member Patrick Caron will intervene during the session titled “Better Leveraging Science, Technology, Innovation and Engineering for Accelerating Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals” from 13:15 to 14:30.
