  • Date

    04:00 pm > 05:30 pm UTC+02:00

In alignment with Egypt’s strategies for preserving productivity in salt-affected agricultural areas, the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) MENA office through the CGIAR Initiative on Fragility to Resilience in Central Asia and West Asia and North Africa (F2R-CWANA), is organising a workshop during Cairo Water Week 2023. This collaborative effort with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) and with support from Egypt’s Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry aims to present the current state of water and soil salinity in Egypt. The workshop will highlight success stories and lessons learned from the region, incorporating cutting-edge scientific evidence developed by NARES, CGIAR and global partners and provide informed recommendations for Egypt’s policies in maintaining productivity in saline landscapes, both within and beyond the agricultural sector.
