Aquaculture is becoming increasingly important in Africa, both to provide sustainable and nutritious food to growing populations and to improve livelihoods. Increase in demand creates both challenges and opportunities like improving sustainability and achieving net zero targets.

In a virtual event hosted by Innovate UK and KTN Global Alliance Africa, aquaculture researchers, investors, producers and processors will come together to discuss current challenges and future opportunities for collaboration between the UK and Africa research institutions, funding bodies, SMEs and businesses interested to support developments in the growing aquaculture sector in Africa.

WorldFish’s Project Leader for Sustainable Aquaculture, Colin Shelley, will join the panel of experts to present WorldFish’s research and innovation in Africa in relation to the WorldFish’s ‘2030 Research and Innovation Strategy‘ and CGIAR’s initiative in ‘Resilient Aquatic Foods for Healthy People and Planet.’

Stay tuned for more information on the panel members.
