The Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit will be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, from May 7 to May 9, 2024, in the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).
The Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit aims to address the ongoing deterioration of soil quality across the continent, which has hindered agricultural productivity and food security over several decades.
About the Forum
The conference aims to gather relevant stakeholders to underscore the vital importance of fertilizer and soil health in fostering sustainable growth in African agriculture, particularly for the benefit of impoverished communities. The goal is to reach a consensus on an African Fertilizer and Soil Health Action Plan alongside the Soils Initiative for Africa.
Anticipated outcomes include the endorsement of a 10-year Action Plan, offering tangible recommendations for African leaders and stakeholders to implement over the next decade.
This plan will serve as a framework for new policies and investments, empowering farmers to rejuvenate soil health and ultimately enhance fertilizer effectiveness, leading to increased yields and profitability. Furthermore, it is expected that the Action Plan will garner support from key private and public sector partners across all African nations.
