26th of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical, and Technological Advice (SBSSTA & SBI)

Hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya, SBSTTA 26 will convene from May 13th to 18th, 2024, followed by the fourth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI) from May 21st to 29th, 2024.

During SBSTTA 26, government representatives, experts, and stakeholders will collaborate to provide timely advice to the Conference of the Parties (COP) on biodiversity conservation strategies. T

About SBSTTTA

This event’s agenda will include comprehensive assessments of biological diversity status, evaluations of measures aligned with Convention provisions, and discussions on addressing COP inquiries.

The gathering will explore the outcomes of recent technical expert group meetings and engage in informal discussions to prepare for upcoming negotiations. Early registration is encouraged, and financial support may be available for eligible participants, particularly from developing countries, least-developed countries, small island developing States, and countries with economies in transition.
