How can we respond to climate security crises in Africa?
09.09.21 > 09.06.21
The CGIAR FOCUS Climate Security will host a compelling new series of eight webinars that explore ways climate science can better inform peacebuilding efforts and security operations in unstable regions around the world.
We’re thrilled to be joined once again by Mark Leon Goldberg of the popular Global Dispatch podcast, who will chair each webinar in the lead-up to the UN Food Systems Summit and COP26.
The CGIAR has developed the Africa Crisis Observatory to provide clear, relevant and actionable evidence to policymakers on how, where and when climate drives insecurity and exacerbates vulnerabilities in periods of conflict. It does this by monitoring and assessing existing and developing crises – alerting policymakers to critical areas that require engagement and action.
This – our fourth in a new series of debates – will explore ways this new crisis observatory can support peace and security in Africa.
Join our high-level webinar to find out more about how we can respond to climate crises in Africa.
