Research activities: Integrating policy tools
Strengthening the analytical performance of national institutions is a key part of building more effective policy responses. Using approaches such as training of trainers and co-creating simpler and more user-friendly tools, National Policies and Strategies will help strengthen policy analysis at country level enabling greater coherence and better understanding of trade-offs between policies and investments. Ultimately, this will lead to more targeted and cost-effective public and private investment, including more support for vulnerable communities and greater long-term environmental sustainability. This strand of work also supports demand-driven integration of selected policy and investment prioritization tools in national and subnational institutions, such as ministries of agriculture, planning, universities, think tanks and local authorities.
