Latin America and the Caribbean Scaling Hub
Turning regional experience and evidence into practical knowledge for responsible scaling across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Overview
The Hub connects researchers, implementers, decision-makers and regional platforms so they can learn from innovation experience, adapt proven approaches and expand impact across diverse agrifood systems.
Why this hub
Across Latin America and the Caribbean, promising technological and institutional innovations often demonstrate results in pilot projects but struggle to expand across territories or populations. Lessons, methods and evidence are frequently dispersed across technical reports and specialized publications, making them difficult for others to find and apply. The Hub addresses this gap by organizing regional knowledge, translating evidence into accessible formats and creating spaces for exchange.
Our vision
The Hub will be a regional knowledge and collaboration platform where actors in agrifood innovation systems can access evidence, exchange experience and strengthen their capacity to design, adapt and implement responsible scaling strategies.
Where we work
The Hub supports learning and partnership across Latin America and the Caribbean, connecting regional platforms and national innovation systems with CGIAR's scaling community in Africa, Asia and globally.
How the hub works
The Hub combines a digital knowledge platform with regional learning spaces. Its landing page explains the regional approach and highlights current work, while its connected CGSpace collection gives direct access to publications, methodologies, case studies, policy briefs, reports, blogs and materials from events and exchanges.
What the hub offers
Practical knowledge products
These translate research and field experience into usable guidance.
Case studies
Evidence and case studies on the factors that enable or constrain scaling.
Dialogues and exchanges
Regional dialogues and thematic exchanges linking research, implementation and policy.
Connections
Connections among CGIAR researchers, implementation partners, decision-makers, regional platforms and development organizations.
Cross-regional learning
Opportunities for cross-regional learning with scaling partners in Latina America andd the Caribbean.
Regional learning in action
The Hub will document innovation experiences and support learning around agrifood innovation systems, including work connected to AKIS and SENACYT. Planned activities include a regional virtual dialogue with decision-makers, coordinated with platforms such as PLACA and CAC, and a thematic exchange with regional partners that could form part of a future Scaling Week for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Hub will also share evidence through policy briefs, methodological notes, scientific publications, stories and partner profiles. Together, these products and exchanges will help users understand not only whether an innovation worked, but how, for whom and under what conditions it can be adapted or scaled responsibly.
Work with us
The Hub welcomes researchers, public institutions, producer and territorial organizations, development partners, regional platforms and other actors that want to contribute evidence, share experience or collaborate on responsible scaling.
