CGIAR's 2026 El Niño response
Long before the harvest, farmers and governments must make choices about crops and water that shape food supplies and livelihoods. El Niño adds uncertainty to those choices; a global forecast cannot show how any one growing season will unfold. CGIAR teams, working with national and local partners, are studying the risks and setting out options for 2026/27. CGIAR Climate Action is helping coordinate CGIAR's El Nino response.
