Africa
Advancing resilient and sustainable agrifood systems through science, innovation and partnership.
Overview
CGIAR connects global science with African priorities to support resilient, productive, inclusive, and sustainable agrifood systems across the continent.
Working across diverse contexts, CGIAR advances solutions ranging from improved crop varieties and sustainable land and water management to stronger livestock systems, nutrition, and climate resilience, responding to challenges including climate shocks, land degradation, and food insecurity.
Through close collaboration with governments, national agricultural research systems, regional organizations, farmers, and private-sector partners, CGIAR develops and scales locally relevant solutions that strengthen livelihoods and translate science into lasting impact across Africa.
