In Tanzania, nearly half of banana farmers in Kagera have adopted improved varieties introduced through a partnership led by ENABEL and KU Leuven, with CGIAR playing a crucial role in their selection and dissemination, helping secure food and livelihoods for over 125,000 people in the region.

The CGIAR Integrated Partnership Board, as the governing body of both the CGIAR System Organization and the Integrated Partnership, provides dynamic leadership and governance to advance CGIAR’s mission. This includes the appointment and oversight of the Executive Managing Director.
The Global Leadership Team incorporates institutional integration and coordination to more aligned management across the CGIAR Centers.
A theoretical understanding of the interconnectedness of water, energy, and food is not enough to drive change – we need to break institutional silos and design bankable projects.
