The CGIAR Research Initiative on Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformation (SHiFT) and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology are pleased to announce the awardees of the 2024 student grant scheme. The purpose of the grant is to enrich master’s-level research projects on topics related to sustainable healthy diets, the food environment, and/or food systems in Viet Nam.
Food environments are rapidly changing in low- and middle-income countries posing complex challenges. Research on the food environment, the space between food production, storage, and transportation and consumption, is a relatively new area. There are numerous frameworks, typologies and metrics that make it hard to understand what the food environment is and why it matters for research, programs, and policies.
From October 25-26, 2023, the CGIAR Research Initiative on Fruit and Vegetables for Sustainable Healthy Diets (FRESH) participated in a pivotal event in Arusha, Tanzania: the 9th Joint Multisectoral Nutrition Review (JMNR).
