Australia, Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research

The Australian Council for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), a longtime partner of the CGIAR Research Program on Wheat, recently released a video highlighting the benefits of its international investment and research in agriculture, both in Australia and globally.
Commissioner for International Agricultural Research, Emeritus Professor Lindsay Falvey, explained in the short video how ACIAR “provides a mechanism for working with countries that are of interest to Australia, to their benefit and to our benefit, and creating a diplomacy level between scientists that would not exist otherwise. ACIAR has contributed substantially to the Australian agricultural sector. For example, most of the Australian wheat varieties that we grow are products of the international wheat research community, which Australia contributes to.”
