Status of wheat rusts monitored in key East African countries (Kenya and Ethiopia)

A hundred and thirty-two farmers’ fields were sampled and a total of 102 rust samples (60 stem rust and 42 yellow rust) were collected. Yellow rust disease severity ranged from 0-60S, and the incidence was from low to high. Stem rust severity ranged from 0-70S and the incidence ranged from low to medium in sampled farms. Leaf rust disease was low, ranged from 0-30S with low incidence levels.
