CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Systems Agronomist to join the leadership team for the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (www.csisa.org). With support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the US Agency for International Development, CSISA is CIMMYT’s flagship for sustainable intensification in South Asia and incorporates programming across the innovation to impact continuum in Nepal, Bangladesh, and selected states in India. In addition to strong theoretical knowledge of agricultural systems, the ideal candidate will have a mix of practical field skills, quantitative abilities, appreciation of inter-disciplinary work, and a core commitment to achieving science-led agricultural development. The successful candidate will also have a problem-solving orientation and approach work with a clear focus on issues of scale, sustainability, and underlying processes. Beyond the current phase of CSISA, this position will be instrumental for conceptualizing and mobilizing resources for ‘next generation’ programming for CIMMYT in South Asia.
