Job Summary: The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Research Analyst for a one-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment in its Egypt Strategy Support Program (Egypt SSP) office.  The successful candidate will work with senior research staff, assisting in data collection, data processing, data analysis, literature reviews, drafting research papers, capacity building and outreach activities. The candidate will also coordinate and provide substantial inputs into IFPRI’s work on climate smart agriculture and be involved in other projects related to agriculture and rural development. The position is based at IFPRI’s Egypt SSP office located in Cairo. The incumbent will work under the overall guidance of the IFPRI Egypt SSP Program Leader, but will be employed directly by IFPRI’s organizational host in Egypt, the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Area (ICARDA). The employer of record will be ICARDA and employment policies, compensation and benefits of ICARDA will apply to this position. Interested applicants must have work authorization to work in Egypt. Essential Duties : Specific duties include but are not limited to: Maintain and update IFPRI’s agricultural databases Assist in agricultural and household survey data collection Assist in econometric and statistical analysis of agricultural and survey data Conduct literature reviews and synthesis Assist in drafting reports and research papers Assist in capacity building and outreach activities Coordinate IFPRI’s work on climate-smart agriculture Other duties as assigned   Required Qualifications : Master’s degree or its equivalent in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Economics, or closely related fields with 3 years of experience  Experience with organizing and analyzing large databases Advanced knowledge of STATA and demonstrated ability to perform in-depth statistical analysis Excellent analytical mind and drafting skills Excellent interpersonal skills and to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment Demonstrated ability to multi-task as needed, consistently meet deadlines and manage time well Demonstrated professional level of attention to detail and accuracy of work Ability to work independently and with initiative Willingness to travel within Egypt and internationally Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken Arabic   Preferred Qualifications : Experience with capacity building activities Field experience in collecting quantitative and/or qualitative household data Knowledge of GAMS and/or ARC GIS Skills in Python coding or any familiarity with using satellite imagery   Familiarity with impact evaluations and/or computable general equilibrium modeling Familiarity with the literature on (climate-smart) agriculture, water resource management, food security and nutrition
