CIP is implementing a four years project on Market-led Transformation of the Root and Tuber Crops Subsector in Malawi (RTC-MARKET) program, 2023 – 2027.  The goal of the project is to sustainably increase the contribution of the RTC subsector to the national economy, food and nutrition security, incomes, and employment creation through commercialization of the subsector.  It aims to transform and commercialize the RTC subsector by increasing private sector participation in the RTC value chains.  The RTC-Market Project plans to reach at least 60,000 value chain actors with market-led interventions by end of the four years.  The project will be implemented in the following districts: Nsanje, Mulanje, Blantyre, Lilongwe, Zomba, Mangochi and Salima for OFSP; Dedza, Ntcheu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzimba, Mchinji, Dowa and Ntchisi for potato; and Mzimba, Lilongwe, Kasungu, Blantyre, Salima, Zomba, Nkhota-kota and Nkhata-Bay for cassava.

The RTC Project would therefore like to engage an IT Consultant to provide professional technical assistance to the project and data management system. The project’s monitoring and evaluation plan that includes data collection tools for the RTC-Market have been developed as guided by the M and E consultant who has recommended a way forward for data management system for the project. Looking at the amount of data to be collected by participating partners, the consultant recommended for a system that will be used by all partners for data management (storage) and reporting for the entire indicator list. The system will provide for data aggregation and will have a dashboard for visualization of data interpretations (charts, tables etc.) that are easy to comprehend. The system will be web-based to allow CIP have access to all data entered and stored by RTC-Market project partners as assisted by the data manager.
