is implementing a project in Bihar, India, on conservation agriculture, namely
potato zero-tillage and mulching (PZTM). As survey to better understand the
socio-economic and environmental effects is planned and will be implemented
using a randomized control trial design. We are seeking 2 consultants to gather
varietal turnover data and promote VarScout through Whatsapp groups.
Objectives:
- Configuration and management of farmer WhatsApp groups.
- Translation of the script and prompts into the local dialect of
Hindi.
- Ensuring farmers onboarding in WhatsApp group and obtaining
consent.
- Facilitating the conversations and monitoring of contributions of
farmers to ensure compliance to the code of conduct.
- Resolution of arising challenges, and conflict.
- Regular reporting to the research team at the University of
Witwatersrand.
Requirements
- Degree: Undergraduate degree in related areas
- Specialization: Agriculture, Survey Research, Qualitative
research, M&E activities
- Expertise required: Research related
- Years of experience: Three years of experience required,
preferably with assignments in Bihar
- Skills: Expertise in WhatsApp functionalities, quantitative data
collection, etc.
- Experience of technical reporting with advance level knowledge of
MS office
