is implementing a project in Bihar, India, on conservation agriculture, namely
potato zero-tillage and mulching (PZTM). As survey to better understand the
socio-economic and environmental effects is planned and will be implemented
using a randomized control trial design. We are seeking 2 consultants to gather
varietal turnover data and promote VarScout through Whatsapp groups.

Objectives:

•        Configuration and management of farmer WhatsApp groups.
  
•        Translation of the script and prompts into the local dialect of
  Hindi.
  
•        Ensuring farmers onboarding in WhatsApp group and obtaining
  consent.
  
•        Facilitating the conversations and monitoring of contributions of
  farmers to ensure compliance to the code of conduct.
  
•        Resolution of arising challenges, and conflict.
  
•        Regular reporting to the research team at the University of
  Witwatersrand.
  

Requirements

•        Degree: Undergraduate degree in related areas
  
•        Specialization: Agriculture, Survey Research, Qualitative
  research, M&E activities
  
•        Expertise required: Research related
  
•        Years of experience: Three years of experience required,
  preferably with assignments in Bihar
  
•        Skills: Expertise in WhatsApp functionalities, quantitative data
  collection, etc.
  
•        Experience of technical reporting with advance level knowledge of
  MS office
