Good land and water governance and tenure security is a building block for sustainable food production systems. As we develop the new CGIAR Mega Programs we have an opportunity to increase our research investment in land and water governance and make it a core pillar of our research portfolio.
In 2023, the CGIAR became a member of the International Land Coalition (ILC), a coalition made up of people-led organisations, international NGOs, research institutes, land networks and UN agencies, among others. The shared goal of ILC’s almost 300 members is to realise land governance for and with people at a country level, responding to the needs and protecting the rights of women, men and communities who live on and from the land.
In order to learn more about the opportunities of ILC membership, to connect with some of the ILC Secretariat staff (hosted at IFAD) and ILC members, and to receive advice how we can increase land and water governance and tenure in our research portfolio, join us for a 1 hour virtual webinar on Wednesday 17th July, 2024 15.00-16.00 (CEST), hosted by the CGIAR Environmental Health and Biodiversity Platform and supporting Research Initiatives.
