Leading scientist receives global recognition for plant science and agronomy

IITACGIAR Emeritus Scientist and Senior Plant Pathologist Ranajit Bandyopadhyay has been ranked the 828th Best Scientist worldwide and the 76th in the United Kingdom for 2024. This prestigious recognition is from Research.com, a leading academic platform that profiles the best researchers, scientists, schools, and papers to enhance research reach and intelligent decisions across the globe.

Bandyopadhyay’s immense contribution to Plant Science and Agronomy has been duly recognized and honored with the Plant Science and Agronomy Leader Award for 2024.

The ranking is based on the D-index (Discipline H-index) metric, which includes papers and citation values for Bandyopadhyay’s work in Plant Science and Agronomy. Bandyopadhyay exceeded the minimum D-index of at least 30 academic publications required to rank a leading scientist in this field. He made a 58 D-index with 8895 citations of data collected in November 2023 and ranked first among the 10700 scientists analyzed.
