IFPRI Researchers Distinguished with Numerous Awards at International Conference of Agricultural Economists

Several IFPRI researchers were recognized with prestigious awards at the 30thInternational Conference for Agricultural Economists this week. Research Fellow Berber Kramer and Associate Research Fellow Francisco Ceballos received the T.W. Shultz Prize for Best Contributed Paper for their paper on climate smart insurance in India; and Research Fellow Hiroyuki Takeshima received the Nils Westermarck Prize for Best Poster, for his poster on mechanization in Nigeria.

“We are extremely proud that our IFPRI colleagues have been recognized by our peers with these awards and congratulate them on this distinction,” said Shenggen Fan, Director General of IFPRI.

More than 60 IFPRI staff attended the conference, with IFPRI providing significant financial support to bring young researchers from developing countries to the conference.
