The first eLearning course on Gender, Diversity and Inclusion (GDI) in CGIAR’s Workplaces has gone live, providing an opportunity for all CGIAR staff to learn more about GDI.

Accessible here, the 45-minute module is pitched at an introductory level and assumes no prior knowledge of GDI issues. For those that already have some understanding, the module provides some useful reminders.

“This very accessible online course explains why gender equality, diversity and inclusion are so important to CGIAR’s mission,” says Fiona Farrell, CGIAR System Senior Advisor for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion.

“It provides some excellent insights and advice, as we continue to make CGIAR an even more diverse and inclusive place to work,” she says.

The course covers:

  1. What is Gender, Diversity and Inclusion?
  2. Why Gender, Diversity and Inclusion is important to CGIAR’s workplaces
  3. What we are doing at CGIAR to build an inclusive and diverse workplace
  4. Practical tips on how you can contribute to making CGIAR an inclusive place to work.

Upon completion of the module, participants will receive a pdf certificate demonstrating completion of the module plus a personalized action plan to summarize the key learning points.

Closely connected, the course page links to a handbook for managers, supervisors and team leaders, which will help workplaces and teams to discuss Gender, Diversity and Inclusion. It builds upon the key themes covered in the eLearning module.

This eLearning – An introduction to Gender, Diversity and Inclusion in CGIAR’s Workplaces – is the first in a series of modules relating to GDI in CGIAR’s Workplaces.
