International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) facilitated the NATIP implementation plan validation meeting with key federal policymakers from FMARD on 17 November 2022 to develop and present an implementation plan for the new policy. The meeting was well attended by 48 participants, eight of whom were females and 40 males from different departments of FMARD. The participants included the Deputy Director of Planning and Policy Coordination; Ibrahim Taminu, the Deputy Director, Rural Development; Nadungu Gagare and other Directors and Heads of Agencies from FMARD.
During the meeting, the IFPRI consultant presented the developed implementation plan template to guide towards the attainment of the cardinal goals of the Policy while participants were charged with populating the template with specific activities required towards achieving each objective of the NATIP, the resources required, the time frame and the key actors. At the end of the meeting, the participants produced a temporary working template and moved to submit the template for adoption. The amended template will be validated and shared externally in subsequent meetings for adoption.
