The Summit comes at a critical time, midway through the United Nations (UN) Decade of Action on Nutrition, with only five years left to achieve the World Health Assembly (WHA) targets on maternal, infant and young child nutrition, and 10 years to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Supported by the International Coalition for Advocacy on Nutrition (ICAN) through the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) movement, governments, businesses, multilateral, donors, and other development partners convened to mobilize new financial and policy commitments to achieve the global targets for health, food and resilience.

As established in the vision for the Summit, these leaders particularly explored solutions for making data-driven financial, policy, programmatic, or impact commitments to ensure greater accountability in ending malnutrition in all its forms, especially for poor and vulnerable communities in low-and-middle-income countries.
