The CGIAR is accredited with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through the System Organization as Accredited Entity. As such, CGIAR is currently developing a pipeline of multi-center projects that scale CGIAR research and innovation to deliver climate adaptation and mitigation impact on the ground. This internal session for CGIAR staff interested in climate finance and GCF engagement, will raise awareness on the climate finance landscape with particular focus on GCF, as well as the internal strategy and process in place for CGIAR pipeline development. The session will also share an update on the status of current pipeline development efforts, undertaken with support from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) under the framework of a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project on climate adaptation financing for the agriculture sector in Africa. Finally, this session will be an opportunity for learning and sharing of experience related to climate finance and GCF in particular.
