CGIAR @ CFS 47

Transforming Agricultural Innovation for People, Nature and Climate

Join us for a CFS 47 Side-Event
Monday, February 8, 2021
13:00–14:15 CET

About the event

In the face of accelerating climate change, we must embark on a step change in agricultural innovation, through increased focus and coordination, and enhanced efforts to bring approaches to scale to deliver benefits for people, nature and climate. Evidence gaps, on what works and where to achieve scale, prevent stakeholders from taking necessary actions.

This Committee on World Food Security 47 (CFS 47) side-event will present the latest evidence on challenges and opportunities to scale  approaches that enhance outcomes for people, nature and climate, and build on innovation and demand-driven solutions. The evidence presented will be discussed by representatives of key stakeholder groups.

The event — co-hosted by CGIAR, the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Thailand, together with partners the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) — aims to contribute to enabling stakeholders to make commitments or pledges in support of a transformation of agricultural innovation systems as part of the engagement efforts for the United Nations Food Systems Summit and COP26.
