Peer-reviewed publications refer to CGIAR research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

In 2021, CGIAR had 2,539 research papers published in peer-reviewed journals, of which 83% (2,097) were open access and 94% (2,389) were published in ISI journals.

Compared to 2020, the annual number of peer-reviewed publications increased by 16% (2,193 in 2020). The percentage of open access publications increased, with 83% of papers being open access in 2021, compared to 80% in 2020. The percentage of publications published in ISI journals also increased between 2020 and 2021 (94% in 2021; 91% in 2020).

From 2017 to 2021, a total of 10,737 CGIAR publications were published in peer-reviewed journals.
