Outcome Impact Case Reports

Outcome Impact Case Reports

Our recent achievements are detailed in Outcome Impact Case Reports (OICRs). OICRs are short reports describing the contribution of CGIAR research to outcomes and impact.

In 2021, CGIAR reported 132 OICRs: 51% (67) related to changes in policy or practice, 42% (55) documented changes in discourse or behavior, and 8% (10) provided evidence of adoption or impact at scale.*

OICRs were linked to 14 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2021. Significantly, 48% related to SDG2 (zero hunger; 63 OICRs), and SDG1 (no poverty) and SDG12 (responsible consumption and production) were each linked to 31% of OICRs (41 OICRs each).

Most OICRs are also related to CGIAR’s three System Level Outcomes (SLOs): 38% (50) of total OICRs referred to poverty reduction (SLO1), 40% (53) to improved food and nutrition security (SLO2), and 22% (29) to improved natural resources and ecosystem services (SLO3).

In 2021, 72% of OICRs had capacity development as their principal or significant objective, and 39% had principal or significant gender objectives.

*Due to rounding, percentages may not add up to 100%.
