Peer-reviewed publications refer to CGIAR research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

In 2020, 2,193 research papers were published in peer-reviewed journals, of which 80% (1,744) were open access and 91% (1,985) were published in ISI journals.

Compared to 2019, the annual number of peer-reviewed publications increased by 15% (1,903 in 2019). The percentage of open access publications also increased, with 69% of papers being open access in 2019, compared to 80% in 2020. The percentage of publications published in ISI journals remained relatively stable between 2019 and 2020 (92% in 2019; 91% in 2020).

From 2017 to 2020, a total of 8,198 CGIAR publications were published in peer-reviewed journals.
