The World Bank
The World Bank was a founding member of the CGIAR in 1971, and is one of the Group's four Co-sponsors. The Bank's Vice President for Sustainable Development also serves as CGIAR Chair. The Director of Agriculture and Rural Development represents the Bank at CGIAR meetings. The CGIAR Director (currently Ren Wang) and Secretariat are based at World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC.
