United States of America
The United States became a member of the CGIAR in 1971, and was one of the Group's sixteen original investors. US official support to the CGIAR is provided through the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The United States hosts the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), one of the 15 CGIAR centers as well as two co-sponsors of the CGIAR: the World Bank and UNDP. Four members of the CGIAR are also located in the United States: the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ford, Rockefeller and Kellogg Foundations.
